WAVE Asian Bistro & Sushi Opening Second Central Florida Location in Maitland

A popular Mount Dora restaurant with a big social media following for its creative sushi is getting ready to open a second location in Maitland.

The city of Maitland announced that a Mount Dora sushi restaurant WAVE Asian Bistro & Sushi would be opening a new location in a former one-story bank building at 360 E. Horatio Ave.

The building is currently under construction and once complete, Wave Asian Bistro & Sushi will join several other tenants at the upscale Maitland Social in summer 2023.

The restaurant will take up a nearly 1,400-square-foot interior space with an outdoor patio next to future neighbors including Foxtail Coffee Co. Vitality Bowls Superfood Cafe, and Urban Body Works.

Wave is best known for blending a traditional sushi menu with creative items like sushi burritos, sushi donuts, sushi tacos and sushi pizza.

Some of their more inventive twists - like the Baby Yoda, Spongebob Squarepants, and Pokemon sushi - have earned the eatery a cult following on their social media channels.
