You can now imagine alongside Walt Disney in the new World Celebration neighborhood, as World Celebration Gardens and it's focal point, Walt the Dreamer statue are now open to guests at EPCOT.
The long-awaited new World Celebration Neighbourhood, featuring World Celebration Gardens, and Dreamers Point with it's stunning focal point, a new Walt Disney statue, "Walt the Dreamer" has opened to the public, today, Tuesday, December 5, at EPCOT, on what is Walt Disney's birthday.
Yesterday, Monday, December 4, 2023, Walt Disney Legacy Award recipient Cast Members were among the first to see the all-new "Walt the Dreamer" statue that debuted as a focal point of the stunning World Celebration Gardens.
In a memorable dedication moment, EPCOT Vice President Kartika Rodriguez was joined by the Walt Disney World Ambassadors, Imagineer Scott Mallwitz and the Voices of Liberty to celebrate the original dreamer.
Walt Disney World Resort guests can now explore the gardens at EPCOT.
World Celebration unites the front of EPCOT, tying together the other two new neighborhoods, World Discovery and World Nature.
The completion of the last of the park’s three neighborhoods is the latest major milestone in the multi-year transformation of EPCOT.
While World Celebration is now open, the new land is still not completed, with CommuniCore Hall & Plaza still under construction.
When CommuniCore Hall does open in World Celebration, it will be the center of festival programming throughout the park.
In renderings, you can see this will be home to a new character greeting location called Mickey & Friends. You’ll be able to meet Mickey Mouse and some of his best pals in this colorful space.
Also located in the World Celebration neighborhood, CommuniCore Hall will be the home of a dynamic exhibition space that will transform with each festival throughout the year, as you can see here in one possibility imagined for EPCOT International Festival of the Arts.
Playing with light, shapes and reflections, the architecture of this building was designed by Walt Disney Imagineering to celebrate the legacy of EPCOT and the original CommuniCore buildings.
