We're finding out from Disney that Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course at Walt Disney World will be closing soon as it undergoes a major renovation project.
Starting next week, the golf course will only be available as a 9 hole course instead of 18 for a limited period, with the entire course closed for an extended period beginning May 9.
The details have been posted on the golfwdw.com site, here is the details on the website...
PLEASE NOTE!…During the dates of April 28, 2022 – May 8, 2022 only holes #1 – #9 will be available for play, and beginning on May 9, 2022 Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course will be closed indefinitely for a major renovation project. We recommend that you play at either Disney’s Palm or Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Course during this timeframe as we prepare Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course for your future enjoyment! We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the temporary closure of this golf course, and look forward to welcoming you back to the newly re-imagined Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course later this year.
Named for its majestic magnolia trees, Disney's Magnolia Golf Course is a classic, featuring elevated tees, spacious greens and challenging water hazards. The course is the longest of all the Disney golf courses.
Lower-handicap golfers commonly favor it over the three other 18-hole courses at Disney for its championship pedigree. It's been a mainstay on the PGA Tour since it opened.
The challenging signature hole, the par-3 sixth with the Mickey Mouse-shaped bunker in front of the green, is nearly 200 yards from an elevated tee, over water to a shallow, elevated green. In all, Disney's Magnolia course measures 7,516 yards from the classic tees, with a course rating of 76.0 and a slope rating of 141.
