Walt Disney World are continuing to make contingency plans throughout the resort as Hurricane Milton threatens Central Florida in the days ahead with extremely dangerous weather conditions.
Walt Disney World is slowly gearing up for a possible resort shut-down in the days ahead as concerns grow that Hurricane Milton will tear through Central Florida on Wednesday, October 9 causing widespread destruction.
Yesterday, Walt Disney World announced that they were waiving the cancellation and change fees for guests with hotel reservations yesterday, October 6. Now, that time period of the waiver has been extended.
Now today, October 7, they have announced that they will waive change and cancellation fees due to potential weather impacts to guest travel plans for check-in dates of Sunday, 10/6 – Saturday, 10/12.
Most room-only and vacation packages can be modified, or canceled online, including changes to travel dates, without fees.
Packages including air transportation or other services provided by third parties, or those with travel protection, cannot be modified or canceled online. For Guests with these reservations please call for assistance
Also, earlier today the resort announced numerous accommodation closures across the resort, including Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, the Copper Creek Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, and the Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa which will all temporarily close beginning at 11am on Wednesday, Oct. 9.
