In a surprise announcement from Walt Disney World, this year guests can enjoy fireworks on New Year's Eve at Disney's Hollywood Studios, in what feels like for the first time in forever!

For many years now, Walt Disney World has only offered New Year's Eve fireworKs at Magic Kingdom and EPCOT.

In year's gone by, Hollywood Studios would present not only New Year's Eve fireworks, but regular fireworks shows throughout the year, but since the park lost its fireworks launch site across World Drive, this has not been the case.

This year however Disney has decided to include Hollywood Studios in the New Year's Eve celebrations, announcing“New Year’s Countdown Fireworks” on December 31.

In addition to the fireworks guests can enjoy DJ Parties, and rare character meet and greets.

Here is the announcement from Walt Disney World in full:

"At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, enjoy a variety of live entertainment and DJs all night long, including the Pixar Dance Party. Be on the lookout for special character experiences throughout the park and don’t miss the New Year Countdown Fireworks."
