Tonight at the new Fringe ArtSpace in Downtown Orlando, VarieTEASE debut's the much anticipated "Genesis".
Orlando Fringe recently opened their brand new, permanent space in the former home of Mad Cow Theater on Church Street.
The Fringe ArtSpace has two performing theatre space within ArtSpace - a mainstage with 166 seats and a black box with 40-60 seats, The space at 54 W. Church Street will be used to develop burgeoning talent as well as stage their own productions and exciting work from touring companies.
This weekend's performances of VarieTEASE "Genesis" will kick off the Fringe ArtSpace Spring Season.
With a compelling mixture of storytelling, music, and dance; VarieTEASE Genesis explores the themes of contemporary culture, social adaptation, and vibrant rebirth.
This weekend's performances will take place January 26, 27, 28 at 7.30 pm and January 29 at 2 pm.
VarieTEASE "Genesis" is an extension of the last installment of VarieTEASE On The Move which tells the story of closing of the unique Theatre THE VENUE and the four years following.
The growth, healing and start of a NEW certainly captivate the story, but have no fear, the nostalgic avant-garde story telling that is VarieTEASE is very apparent and lends itself to the part of the plot that “makes no sense”. And you won’t want to miss the new featured talent that is the future of this legendary ensemble.
Consider this a rebirth 2 decades in the making.
This weekend performance is created by an Orlando legend Blue Star.
VarieTEASE was curated as a show bar cabaret in the early 2000’s and found it’s way back to the theatre via The Orlando Fringe Festival winning multiple awards such as Patron’s Pick, Best of the Fest, Critics choice for Best Choreography and still holds the title for one of the top selling shows in Fringe history with Carnivale.
The Burlesque culture was catapulted into the scene by the longest running and award winning Burlesque show in Orlando known as The Peek-a-Boo Lounge (The Dust Orlando/The Venue).
Recently Blue Star (choreographer/producer) and VarieTEASE were commissioned by the City of Orlando to create an amazing show at The Steinmetz, in collaboration with Memoir Agency, as a part of the DTO project Destination Downtown.
They continue to grow and share Art with Orlando on a larger scale, hoping to make Downtown Orlando a place where Art is cultivated for everyone around the World to enjoy.
