Upscale Winter Park Restaurant Doshi to close its doors forever at the end of October

Central Florida is losing yet another popular restaurant, with Johny Tung's popular Doshi announcing that it is closing.

Innovative, upscale Korean restaurant Doshi located at 1040 N Orlando Ave STE 104, Winter Park has announced that it is to permanently close its doors at the end of October.

The award winning restaurant that been featured in the Michelin Guide, revealed the sad news to patrons on its Instagram Account, citing rising food and labor costs for its decision to close.

Owned by popular local restaurateurs Johnny and Jimmy Tung, the concept began in 2021 as DoshiBox, a takeout-only ghost kitchen on Curry Ford Road.

From there, the current 35-seat restaurant opened a little over two years ago, quickly gaining a reputation for its fusion of traditional Korean flavors and fresh ingredients, earning it the Orlando Sentinel Best Korean Restaurant 2023 and a Michelin Guide Recommendation 2023, sadly this has not been enough to save Doshi from the chopping block.

While no exact closing date has been announced, Domi will close at the end of the month, and is inviting everyone to join them in their final days.

A glimmer of hope for fans of the restaurant is that owner Tung is searching for a new, smaller location and hope to serve customers again in the future.

"To Our Valued Guests and Community, With heavy hearts, we announce that Doshi will be closing its doors for good at the end of the month.

When we set out to bring an elevated Korean dining experience to the city, we never imagined we would be featured in the Michelin Guide, win the Orlando Sentinel Foodie Award for ‘Best Korean,’ or receive such incredible support from all of you.

Unfortunately, due to rising food and labor costs, we’ve made the tough decision to close. But this is not goodbye forever—we’re searching for a new, smaller location and hope to serve you again in the future.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for embracing modern Korean cuisine with us over the last two years. The journey has been unforgettable.
