As we get ever closer to v the exciting opening of Universal Epic Universe, Universal Orlando Resort has shared a first look at the yummy food and beverages coming to the brand-new theme park.
Opening on May, 22, 2025, Universal Epic Universe offers different worlds for everyone. Step through amazing portals transporting you to the excitement of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, Dark Universe and Celestial Park.
Each world will feature one-of-a-kind cuisine, so let’s dive straight into what to expect to eat at Epic Universe.
Explore Dining in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Ministry of Magic
Have you ever wanted to savor French cuisine in wizarding Paris? This is entirely possible in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic.
Venture through the portal from ethereal Celestial Park to Place Cachée, a Parisian street home to the café-esque dining hot spot, Café L’air De La Sirène.
This fast casual dining establishment brings you breakfast, lunch and dinner with a wizarding world touch. Here’s what good eats are in store:
Breakfast
Quiche Lorraine, which is a delectable custard made from eggs and cream coupled with crispy bacon and melty cheese in a flaky pastry crust with a side of fresh berries topped with a lavender honey drizzle.
Lunch & Dinner
Prepare to have your taste buds transported straight to Paris as this spot brings authenticity with a side of flavor to the table.
One staple menu item is Poulet à la Provençal, a juicy roasted half chicken that’s finished with a delicious tomato olive vinaigrette and served with a side of roasted potatoes and haricots verts (French green beans).
Le Goblet Noir is another fast casual dining hot spot in wizarding Paris that is serving up quite a few unique dishes you won’t want to overlook. The Alchemist’s Platter is a flavorful spread of smoked sausage, potato and cheese pierogies, and tangy pickled eggs. You’ll find the marinated beets, caramelized onions and a warm soft pretzel served with zesty German mustard and cheese fondue. The Lentil Stew is a vegan-friendly dish that blends tender lentils with savory vegan bacon and rich root vegetables served with fluffy artisan bread.
Anytime
Bièraubeurre is the resident Butterbeer cart nestled in the streets of wizarding Paris, and it’s serving up fresh cups of cold, hot, frozen and non-dairy Butterbeer to wizards and Muggles alike!
As a favorite beverage in the wizarding world, you know French witches and wizards were going to put their own spin on it. And that’s where we come to the Bièraubeurre Crepe. A thin crepe filled with with shortbread cookie butter Bavarian cream and Butterbeer cream folded inside. This delicacy is decadently topped with a Butterbeer drizzle, fresh strawberries, and a shortbread cookie.
See What Chef Toad is Cooking Up at Toadstool Cafe
Head straight toward the portal with the Super Star high in the sky, through the green pipe, and be transported to SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, where you’ll find eats cooked up by Chef Toad at Toadstool Cafe. Chef Toad brings you all his favorite recipes coupled with a stunning view of scenes of the Mushroom Kingdom.
Toadstool Cafe is a fast casual dining spot that serves both lunch and dinner and offers a unique range of dishes themed to the world of Super Mario. One staple that is sure to be a hit among Nintendo fans is the Mario Burger, a juicy 7-ounce burger topped with lettuce, tomato, mushrooms, bacon and melty American cheese. It sits neatly on a fluffy brioche bun with Mario’s signature mustache printed on it and is topped with his famous red hat.
Equally delicious is the Luigi Burger, with grilled chicken, pesto, and Swiss cheese.
If you’re feeling daring, ignite your tastebuds with Bowser’s Fireball Challenge: a towering one-pound meatball topped with gooey mozzarella cheese in rich mushroom marinara sauce and fresh parsley.
When you’re craving a quick treat, Yoshi’s Snack Island is the place to be. Here, you can pick up the Apple Melon or Mango Yoshi’s Smoothie, a savory vegan Green Shell Calzone, or an Italian meat Red Shell Calzone if you’re hungry for something more filling.
Over in Donkey Kong Country, the Bubbly Barrel offers the perfect refreshment for your jungle adventures. Sit back under the thatched roof as you sip on a DK Crush Float, available in Tropical Banana flavor — a drink fit for a (Donkey) Kong.
Satisfy a Viking Appetite at How to Train Your Dragon Isle of Berk
Dragon training is hard work, and only food fit for a Viking can do the job of restoring lost energy. As you make your way around How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, be sure to stop by the island’s one-stop shop for the best Viking cuisine: Mead Hall.
This is where all the people of Berk gather for a good time over great food, and once you see what’s on the menu, you’ll want in.
The Thawfest Platter is a staple menu item at Mead Hall. This full feast comes with grilled sausage, salmon with dill sauce, chicken drumsticks glazed with a wild berry barbecue sauce and a side of french fries and housemade pickles. Like I said: Fit for a Viking.
You’ll definitely want to enjoy this meal with a big glass of Yaknog, a traditional Viking staple that’s a creamy, chilled malted beverage sporting a sweet vanilla flavor.
Also in Mead Hall, you will discover Stormfly’s Catch of the Day a fun dessert perfect for young Vikings featuring a chocolate mousse fish nestled atop a bed of colorful crispy rice cereal for a delightful combination of creamy and crunchy sweetness.
Spit Fyre Grill is where to get a taste of their selection of bowls. You can choose from Stoick’s Steak Bowl, Hiccup’s Salmon Bowl, Meatlug’s Chicken Bowl, Astrid’s Shrimp Bowl, or Valka’s Vegan Bowl.
More tasty fares can be found at Hooligan’s Grog & Gruel, a quick-service kiosk that serves a variety of Mac and Cheese Cones, which are half loaves of bread with the inside carved out and filled with mac and cheese.
The Food is Scary Good at Dark Universe
What’s it like dining with the darkest legends known to man, you ask? You’re about to find out in Dark Universe: Land of the Universal Monsters and home of the most deathly delicious dishes the horrors have to offer.
If you get hungry while exploring this world, your first stop should definitely be Das Stakehaus, a fast casual restaurant nestled on top of the ruins of ancient catacombs.
You can get Fish on a Stake, Bird on a Stake (grilled chicken) and Bits and Pieces (wild mushroom and brisket meatloaf). Sounds brutal, but tastes heavenly.
The “Blood” Orange Chicken Sandwich at Das Stakehaus is scary-good flash-fried marinated chicken breast dressed in savory blood orange sauce and a pickles slaw between two black buns and served with a side of crispy French fries.
While dining at Das Stakehaus for dinner, make sure you save room for dessert; there’s one treat at this spot that is quite literally to die for. Ready your wills because Red Velvet Death is out for blood. This red velvet cake is cut into an eerie coffin shape as a nod to the vampires that reside under the restaurant. It’s made with beets to naturally give it that blood red hue and to bring a fun play on the concept of a red heartbeet cake.
The Burning Blade Tavern is Dark Universe’s other bewitchingly good fast casual dining establishment, and it’s got a handful of delights as well.
Here, you can pick up Hunter’s Garlic Stake, a crispy, cheesy garlic soft pretzel, or Burning Cheddar Bites, which are crispy fried poppers. Plus, you will discover the Burning Blade Burger, a hearty beef patty with a spicy tomato jam spread and jalapeño bacon that mimics the criss-cross shape of the wind turbines to match the windmill it’s served from — all between two jet black brioche buns.
Discover a Galaxy of Themed Restaurants at Celestial Park
At the center of all that is Epic Universe comes Celestial Park, the first world you’ll encounter in this thrilling new theme park that connects you to all the other aforementioned worlds.
More than just a futuristic realm where humans and nature converge, Celestial Park is home to some of the tastiest restaurants in the theme park.
Under-the-sea dining can be found at Celestial Park’s very-own signature restaurant, Atlantic, and it’s coming through with seafood flavors that will blow you away. The Sea Bass is one crown jewel of a dish at Atlantic that sports a subtly sweet carrot mochi and fresh sugar snap peas. Nestled in an aromatic lemongrass broth, this dish is garnished with tropical starfruit slices.
Also at Atlantic, is the Landlubber’s Snickerdoodle Loot – a fun beach-style dessert perfect for young explorers featuring a snickerdoodle cake served in a beach pail with cookie butter ganache, surrounded by Biscoff sand and gummy sharks
The Blue Dragon Pan-Asian Restaurant is soon to be one hot commodity in Celestial Park as it brings an eclectic and vibrant spin on fine Asian cuisine. Surrounded by bright neon dragons under constellation-covered ceilings, you’ll savor flavors from all over China, Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia and more. Try the Double Fried Korean Wings, and the Beef Xi’an Noodles. These noodles are thicker than the average noodle and made with Szechuan spices and hearty beef.
This restaurant’s crown jewel of a dessert is the Passion Fruit Mooncake, which is a small hand pie filled with passion fruit cheesecake with a signature dragon stamped on top.
Comet Dogs is soon-to-be your go-to quick stop for all things hot dogs in Celestial Park. This spot puts a unique spin on hot dogs that’ll blow your mind with offerings like the Bulgogi Dog, the Al Pastor Dog and even the vegan-friendly Smoky Carrot Dog, which is an actual smoked carrot seasoned to mimic the taste of a grilled hot dog.
The number of dining options in Celestial Park are near endless. Not only should you pay these spots a visit, but you should also check out restaurants such as The Oak & Star Tavern, Pizza Moon, Meteor Astropub, Frosty Moon, Star Sui Bao and bars like Celestiki and Bar Zenith.
Discover Incredible Dining at Universal Helios Grand Hotel, a Loews Hotel
Guests will enjoy divine dining options at Universal Helios Grand Hotel, a Loews Hotel. Along with delicious comfort food and creative tapas, Bar Helios offers unmatched views of Universal Epic Universe. Flora Taverna is a three-meal restaurant offering a full breakfast buffet, Mediterranean comfort foods, a pizza oven and more.
Keep an eye out for menu items such as the Charred Octopus, Shish Kebabs and Mezzes & Spreads because they’re packing a serious punch in the flavor department. The Charred Octopus is served with crispy herb potatoes, olives and salsa verde while garnished with brassica leaves and is the perfect dish to curb your under-the-sea cravings. If you’re in the mood for both surf and turf, however, the za’atar chicken, harissa prawns and pimento spiced beef Shish Kebabs served with garlic sauce, chermoula (Moroccan herb sauce) and daqoos (garlic tomato sauce) will do you justice.
Mezzes & Spreads is the perfect shareable for lovers of Mediterranean cuisine as it features baba ghanoush, muhammara (roasted red pepper dip), hummus and tzatziki served with marinated olives, whipped summer feta and artisanal breads such as focaccia, pita and lavash.
