Halloween Horror Nights 2024 Dates And When To Attend
Halloween Horror Nights begins on Friday, August 30 at Universal Orlando Resort, with the after-hours event running select night through November 3, 2024.
The dates for Halloween Horror Nights 2024 are:
August: 30-31
September: 1, 4-8, 11-15, 18-22, 25-29
October: 2-6, 9-13, 16-20, 23-27, 30-31
November: 1-3
Expect Halloween Horror Nights to have the biggest crowds on weekends, and with most people wanting to experience the event as close to Halloween as possible, the closer the calendar gets to October 31, the busier HHN will be, with huge crowds and long wait times for the houses.
With that in mind, if you want to experience as much as possible at HHN, then a visit on weekdays (Wednesdays and Thursdays tend to be the least crowded), or in September means it is often less crowded.
Whenever you plan to visit, arrive early! If you come earlier in the evening you are more likely to beat the crowds and see more of the haunted houses, plus start in the back of the park. The haunted houses near the front of the park tend to get crowded first, so start with the houses in the back of the park and you’ll be able to get many of the haunted houses done quickly.

Halloween Horror Nights 2024 Haunted Houses
The beating heart of Halloween Horror Nights is the haunted houses. Every year, Universal’s Entertainment team brings to life the biggest names in horror from movies, TV shows, video games, and urban legends in twisted, maze-like haunted houses.
They also create their own original storylines that have given birth to iconic characters over the years. There’s no better way to celebrate Halloween than walking through your very own real-life horror movie where you’ve been cast in the role of playing the victim.
Halloween Horror Nights 2024 features 10 new mind-ripping haunted houses, many inspired by the biggest names in horror. Plus, you’ll never know what to expect from the demented minds behind Universal Orlando's original haunted houses.
A Quiet Place
Silence your screams if you want to survive this terrifying, post-apocalyptic world based on the films “A Quiet Place” and “A Quiet Place Part II.” Like the Abbott family, you must keep quiet as you travel from the farmhouse, to the woods, to the foundry. As soon as you make a sound, monstrous creatures who can hear the slightest noise will hunt you down and silence you for good.
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire
In this bone-chilling haunted house inspired by the film “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire,” the Ghostbusters must team up to save the world from a second Ice Age. A new specter, Garraka, has escaped from an ancient artifact. He’ll stop you cold with a whole army of ghosts. Try not to freeze in fear as you dodge spears of ice and he freezes people solid before your eyes.
Insidious: The Further
Don’t get trapped in The Further as terrifying demons try to ensnare you. The Red-Faced Demon will lure you into his lair behind The Red Door, so he can possess your living body. And KeyFace will unlock your fears with his key-tipped fingers to keep your soul trapped in The Further forever.
Universal Monsters: Eternal Bloodlines
Get caught in an epic battle for dominance as Saskia Van Helsing and the Bride of Frankenstein go up against Dracula’s daughter and her monstrous mavens She-Wolf and Anck-su-namun.
Monstruos: The Monsters of Latin America
¡Ten cuídado! With La Muerte as your guide, you’ll be asking for mercy from these three terrifying monsters: the blood-sucking Tlahuelpuchi, owl-faced witch La Lechuza and bone-ripping El Silbón.
Slaughter Sinema 2
If you’re dying for a B-movie horror marathon, head to the Carey Drive-in. Scream through scenes from creature features, grindhouse gore, spaghetti westerns and more.
The Museum: Deadly Exhibits
You decide to visit the new folklore museum exhibit, The Rotting Stone, when an evil escapes from within, destroying everything in its path.
Major Sweets Candy Factory
You’ve been invited to chaperone a field trip to a candy factory. But this sweet tour is about to turn sour when free samples transform the kids into candy-coated killers wielding sharpened candies.
Goblin’s Feast
Visit a goblin village, where hordes of bloodthirsty goblins, orcs, hobgoblins and witches would love to have you for dinner.
Triplets of Terror
You’re invited to the Barmy triplets’ birthday bash. But beware, they celebrate by recreating their family’s murders. Prepare for a gory gathering.
Halloween Horror Nights 2024 Scare Zones
As the sun sets on Universal Studios Florida and ominous clouds fill the sky, the streets fill with hordes of taunting scareactors in five all-new scare zones.
During Halloween Horror Nights, there is nowhere safe to escape to in the theme park. The streets transform into demented scare zones that are swarming with creatures and monsters that are birthed from the darkness like hellish demons, morbid deformities, and the undead.
You are quite literally walking through real-life nightmares. Oh, and watch out for the roaming chainsaw hordes!
Don't forget to snap a photo if you dare in the scare zones, there is tons of killer photo ops.
Enter The Blumhouse
Run a terrifying gauntlet of Blumhouse characters. From The Grabber to M3GAN dancing into your nightmares, this is a new kind of horror.
Duality of Fear
As soon as you enter the gates of Halloween Horror Nights , you must choose a path: follow SINIST3R, the manifestation of visceral horror. Or follow SURR3AL, the incarnation of unearthly terror.
Demon Queens
Get caught in an otherworldly hellscape ripped from the darkest corners of your mind. Four merciless queens loyal to SURR3AL rule, surrounded by hordes of fanatical followers.
Torture Faire
Come one, come all, to the renaissance faire with the devious theme of medieval torture. Brave the gloriously gory homemade torture devices ‘til you’re put out of your misery.
Swamp of the Undead
In backwaters Louisiana, you unwittingly wander onto private property, where you’re swamped by zombies borne from the bodies of other trespassers who were killed and dumped in a nearby bog.
Halloween Horror Nights 2024 Live Entertainment
Every year the live shows at Halloween Horror Nights bring the horror to life in a whole new way.
In the past, there have been pulse-pounding dance troupes, mind-bending acts, pop-culture infused comedy skits, and a jaw-dropping lagoon show. These performances are perfect for those who may not be too keen with the intense scares of haunted houses, but still want some thrills
Nightmare Fuel: Nocturnal Circus
Step right up to a dark circus, a new nightmare that carries with it a sinister curse. Get trapped in a thrilling spectacle of pyro and aerialists to the beat of pulse pounding rock rhythms.
Halloween Horror Nights 2024 Merchandise
Rest your voice from screaming and enjoy shopping for Halloween Horror Nights 2024 merchandise. You’ll find event merchandise like T-shirts, hats, drinkware, pins, lanyards, and collectibles.
HHN 33 Merchandise can be found throughout Universal Studios Florida, but the best place to get your hands on merchandise is the Halloween Horror Nights Tribute Store.
Each year Universal Orlando debuts a new Halloween Horror Nights Tribute Store, an elaborately themed shopping experience to purchase the latest Halloween Horror Nights merchandise and treats.
If you plan to visit the Tribute Store it can get busy, so if possible visit during regular theme park hours when it is also open, This allows you to save time and spend more time in the houses and scare zones.
Halloween Horror Nights 2024 Food & Drink
Fuel your fear at HHN by trying the new themed specialty dishes and drinks inspired by this year’s event. Expect some fun dishes and treats based on the haunted houses and specialty drinks paired to enhance the flavors. You can find these offerings in select food tents, restaurants, and bars during the event.
Fan Favorites
Pizza Fries: If there’s one thing you need to try during HHN, it’s Pizza Fries — a dish with a mound of French fries topped with the fixings of a pizza and then baked to delicious perfection.
Twisted Taters: A twisted potato, fried, and sprinkled with your choice of seasoning. My favorite is sour cream and chive.
Halloween Horror Nights 2024 Tips, Tricks & What To Expect
What To Wear & What Not To Wear
Do NOT wear a costume or mask, costumes and costume masks are not allowed at the event. Leave that to the scareactors, however, HHN is the perfect place to let your freak flag fly though, so don’t be afraid to rock some cute fishnets, boots, or rep your favorite horror movie or villain with a T-shirt or accessory. What to wear is kinda a big deal for many guests attending this event, and a lot of planning goes into the perfect HHN outfit!
Don't Go Alone!
Whether you’re a scaredy cat yourself and you need a friend to get through the haunted houses, or you’re a die-hard fan that enjoys seeing your scaredy cat friend jump, the best way to experience HHN is to bring your crew with you to maximize the scares and fun. Honestly, HHN is so much more fun with family and friends!!
For The Kids Or Not?
Officially there is no minimum age to attend HHN, but Universal Orlando do say, "Event may be too intense for young children and is not recommended for children under 13." In reality it depends your kids tollerance to scares and horror in general, we have seen babies attend, and young kids too.
Watch the Movies!
Before coming to HHN, catch the movies or TV shows that are featured in this year’s event. You’ll be able to truly appreciate the houses by recognizing the iconic scenes, details, and characters. Plus, you may even discover hidden easter eggs!
When To Visit HHN
Both in time of year and time of day. September is oftentimes less crowded at the event than October is, and if you come earlier in the evening you are more likely to beat the crowds and see more of the haunted houses. Plus, when you enter the park, head to the back of the park and start with the houses in the back of the park, most guests start at the front of the park!
Weekdays are much quieter than weekends, when it can get crazy busy, and your chances of experiencing many houses is pretty poor. Weekends are best for frequent visitors, when you can hang out, and enjoy the atmosphere.
We'll see you in the fog! Have a great HHN 33!!
