As Hurricane Milton continuing on a path that is looking more and more likely to rip into Tampa and tear through the I-4 corridor into Greater Orlando, residents are desperate to hide their cars.
As a dangerous weather event appears to be unfolding across Orlando with Hurricane Milton on a path that will likely see the storm slam into or near Tampa, causing devastating damage as it tears through the I-4 corridor and over Orlando, car owners are desperate to keep their cars safe.
At 6 am this monring, the City of Orlando opened four parking garages for residents who would like to park a car in a covered garage.
The four garages, Central Boulevard Garage, 53 West Central Boulevard, Jefferson Street Garage, 62 West Jefferson Street, Library Garage, 112 East Central Boulevard, and Orange County Administration Garage, 300 Liberty Avenue filled up quickly, with the city opening another at Amelia Street Garage at 355 Alexander Place which also filled up quickly leaving many people with nowhere to park their car indoors.
Now, A new update has been posted to the Weather Updates page on the Universal Orlando Resort website regarding parking at the resort during Hurricane Milton, informing residents that the cannot park in the resorts massive parking garages during the storm.
Hurricane parking will only be offered to Team Members.
The resort shard, "Parking is not available to the general public after our parks close this afternoon. Hurricane parking is for team members only. We apologize and encourage guests to check the status of public garages available throughout Orlando."
