Exciting news for Orlando theme park fans, as Universal Orlando Resort has confirmed that new attractions are in the works for all its theme parks, including Epic Universe which is not even open yet!
Universal Orlando Resort has released a new video, “Get Ready for Universal Epic Universe & Beyond," which highlights the soon to open Epic Universe theme park which opens to the public on May 22, 2025.
In addition to promoting what is coming to Epic Universe, Karen Irwin, President and COO of Universal Orlando Resort, revealing that the resort will not be wasting any time in adding to the new park, commenting, "We’re already planning for the next thing at Epic.”
And it's not just new attractions already in the mix for Epic Universe, Irwin has announced that new attractions are slated for every theme parks at Universal Orlando Resort!

So what is planned? While not much is known, we do know that Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit is closing in the fall at Universal Studios Florida, with the ride set to be demolished and replaced with a brand new coaster.
The new ride will be built by Intamin, the designers of rides like VelociCoaster, Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, and Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts.
There is speculation that the coaster could be based on the Fast and Furious franchise, mainly due to the fact that Intamin are currently building The Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift roller coaster, scheduled to open in 2026 at Universal Studios Hollywood in Los Angeles.
Another rumor is that the new ride could be based on the Twister movie, combining a high-speed roller coaster with dark ride elements. Plans for the ride includes the construction of several new buildings, including two larger ones, which do support this rumor. Other speculation points to Ghostbusters, and as of right now any of the above could happen!
Also at Universal Studios Florida, there is speculation that the Simpsons area could be replaced with a Pokémon land.

Over at Epic Universe we do know that the park has been designed with expansion plots at each land, and as of right now, Universal is planning to add new attractions at Dark Universe, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Ministry of Magic, Super Nintendo World, and How to Train Your Dragon - Isle of Berk, before adding any new lands, although rumors are already swirling that a land based on Wiked could eventually make its way to Epic Universe.

At Universal Islands Of Adventure, rumors suggest that Universal may replace Marvel Super Hero Island with a new themed land. Plus, as of yet we do not know the fate of The Lost Continent, with rumors suggesting that Zelda may take over the shuttered area.
Whatever is in the works at Universal Orlando Resort, it's an exciting time ahead to be an Orlando theme park fan.
