Opera Orlando presents a fairytale classic this weekend, Jules Massenet’s Cendrillon. Based on the beloved French Cinderella story by Perrault, this all new production will surely sparkle and enchant audiences.

Bring the whole family to Dr Phillips Center's Steinmetz Hall on February 7 and 9 to enjoy this delightful opera directed by James Marvel, making his Company debut, with conductor Alexandra Enyart returning to Orlando to conduct the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra in the pit.

The beloved rags to riches story comes to life with Massenet’s gorgeous music and a star-studded cast led by Metropolitan Opera soprano and Grammy Award winner Lindsay Ohse joined by fellow Metropolitan Opera roster singers Zhengyi Bai and Darren Drone and with the sparkling soprano Alisa Jordheim taking on the role of the Fairy Godmother (La Fée) with local favorites Samantha W. Petersen and Gabriel Preisser rounding out the cast as the “Evil Stepmother” and King respectively.

Cendrillon will be sung in French with English and Spanish supertitles. The run time for the full evening will be 2 hours and 45 minutes with one intermission.

Tickets starting at just $29, are available now.

Soprano Lindsay Ohse returns to Orlando in the title role of a young woman tormented by her stepmother and step-sisters, who dreams of her Prince Charming.

With the help of a wish-granting fairy godmother, she does capture her Prince's attention, but Cendrillon must practice patience and perseverance to finally have her wish granted. We all know what happens in the end, but the journey of love and desire this opera takes you on is nothing less than truly magical.

This charming take on the Cinderella story will also feature the season’s Studio Artists, members of the Opera Orlando Chorus and Opera Orlando Youth Company, as well as dancers from Orlando Ballet.
