The National Weather Service has issued a Tropical Storm Warning for much of Central Florida with Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando Resort, and SeaWorld Orlando Resorts all affected.
The Tropical Storm Warning upgrading the earlier Tropical Storm Watch advisory.
A Tropical Storm Warning means tropical storm-force winds are expected somewhere within this area within the next 36 hours.
The new advisory comes as Subtropical Storm Nicole approaches the east coast of Florida. Current models suggest peak winds of 40-50mph, with gusts to 65mph. Rainfall is expected to be 3 - 6 inches.
Latest forecast models suggest that Nicole will make landfall as a CAT 1 hurricane early Thursday before moving across Central Florida. Gusty winds and rain would be felt in Central Florida as early as Wednesday with the worst condition felt on Thursday.
