As we get ever closer to TRON Lightycle Run finally opening at Walt Disney World in Spring 2023, details have emerged of how the queue lines will operate once the new coaster opens.
Opening plans have been revealed online showing that TRON Lightcycle Run will open at Magic Kingdom with both a Virtual Queue and Lightning Lane but NO Standby Line.
It appears that Walt Disney World is using the same opening queue system used for Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT.
Guests wishing to ride TRON will use the My Disney Experience App to join the Virtual Queue for a designated time during the day of their visit.
The new rides Virtual Queue will be available to anyone visiting Magic Kingdom, as an alternative, guests can choose to pay for Lightning Lane access which will be available via Individual Attraction Purchase.
The cost for Lightning Lane access is expected to be anywhere between $15 to $20 (OR HIGHER), depending on the demand on the day of a guests visit.
When Tron eventually does open, guests are going to find riding this new attraction very difficult, demand to ride the attraction is going to be huge!
Expect the Virtual Queue to reach capacity within seconds of becoming available every day, plus, the lack of a Standby Line will make it even more difficult for guests to successfully ride TRON.
TRON is expected to begin soft opening in March 2023, including previews for select groups of guests, including Cast Members, Annual Passholders, Disney Vacation Club Members, and a D23 ticketed event.
Following the month of previews in March, TRON Lightcycle Run is expected to have its official opening sometime in April 2023.
