Experiencing America’s largest wave pool, thrilling watery attractions and delightful food & beverage offerings at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, the tropical-themed oasis that blends summer fun with watery adventures.
Soak up an oasis of fun when you visit Typhoon Lagoon Water Park at Walt Disney World, and whether you are navigating the nine exhilarating waterslides and streams or conquering one of the world's largest artificially created waves, Typhoon Lagoon promises the most wild, wonderful and wet water adventure known to man or fish!
Here is a bucket list of 10 ways to make National Water Park Day at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon one of the coolest days of the summer:
Conquer All Three Routes on Crush ‘n’ Gusher: The 400-foot-long “water coaster” has twists and turns through an abandoned fruit-processing plant. Find a partner and choose from three “fruit chutes”—the Pineapple Plunger, Coconut Crusher or Banana Blaster.
Catch a Wave in the Surf Pool: Body surf into the largest wave pool in North America and listen for the thunderous “sonic boom” that comes with every big wave.
Enjoy a Sweet Treat with a Sand Pail Sundae or a DOLE Whip Bathtub Sundae: Embrace the beachy vibes with a Sand Pail Sundae at Happy Landings. Or try the DOLE Whip Bathtub Sundae that includes pineapple and strawberry DOLE Whip and green Macha tea soft serve ice cream.
Hunt for Treasure on Miss Adventure Falls: On this family raft-ride, guests ascend upwards in an aquatic elevator belt that springs riders into the adventure. On the way down, guests should keep an eye out for artifacts from Captain Mary Oceaneer —a sea-faring treasure hunter whose haul was caught in a rogue typhoon… and scattered across the tropical paradise years ago.
Go with the Flow in Castaway Creek: Relax on an inner tube and take a spin around the 2,000-foot-long lazy river that circles the park. The scenic creek consists of refreshing cool mists, shady grottoes, waterfalls, overhead rope bridges and lush rainforest landscapes on a gentile journey through the cavernous tunnel carved into Mount Mayday.
Hang Ten with Stitch: The fan-favorite, mischievous alien occasionally visits the tropical oasis to greet guests, so stop him and say “aloha!” and get a picture with the whole “ohana.”
Water Fun for Little Ones at Ketchakiddee Creek: Kids under 4 feet tall can roam in shallow pools surrounded by whimsical crocodiles, squirting seals and playful elephants. They can explore mini waterslides, splash in a cave with a waterfall and take aim with a water cannon.
Sip in Style with a Typhoon Tilly Sipper: The Typhoon Tilly Sipper creates the perfect social media post and vacation souvenir featuring the water park icon Miss Tilly crashed on top of Mount Mayday. The uniquely designed sipper is a fun way to enjoy a refreshing soft drink and take home a little piece of the water park.
Family Fun for Everyone on Gangplank Falls: Slide through rocky caverns, drenching waterfalls and under rustic wooden bridges on this 300-foot long waterslide—all while spinning and banking from side to side.
Visit Instagramable Photo Locations: Typhoon Lagoon has some of the best photo locations across the Walt Disney World Resort. Before going on Gangplank Falls, snap a photo with the iconic Mickey innertube. The bridge below Miss Tilly also makes for the perfect spot to get an artsy picture with the entire family.
