Built in 1926 as one of America's most elaborate movie palaces, Tampa's majestic movie palace known simply as Tampa Theatre, hosts 600+ events each year, including contemporary films, classic movies, concerts, and more, including the mucH loved Summer Classics Movie Series.
The 33rd annual Summer Classics Movie Series returns on Sunday, June 2m and runs every sunday throughout summer until August 25.
This year’s time-honored collection has the distinction of each title being included in the National Film Registry as “culturally, historically or aesthetically significant films,” and includes classics such as Roman Polanski’s 1974 neo-noir Chinatown, and the Hollywood masterpiece Casablanca.
Modern classics include The Princess Bride, Apollo13, and Thelma & Louise.
Individual ticket prices for most of the films in the series are $10, wexcet for the final weekend, with tickets costing $14.50.
