The highly anticipated Mongolorian barbecue restaurant which took over the former Firehouse Subs space at 2217 East Colonial Drive in Mills 50’s Little Vietnam, was a long time in the making, finally opening in May last year, following many delays.

Now just over a year later, the restaurant is no more, with owner Hoi Nguyen closing the doors on the restaurant on Sunday, August 18 in favor or a new concept.

The Mongolorian was loosely based on the Star Wars franchise, specializing in Mongolian BBQ bowls, with customers able to build customized bowls, tossed and sauced automatically by tabletop "stir fryers." In reality the robot chefs were very slow, and were pulled from the restaurant not long after opening in favor of good old fashioned humans!

According to Orlando Weekly, Hoi Nguyen has closed the restaurant in favor of a new concept, DZÔ! BBQ which will serve a variety of South East Asian-style grilled meats in shareable formats.

It is hoped to have the new restaurant open by the end of September, or early October at the latest.

Nope...that restaurant was just perfect it needed NO CHANGES. Sounds like some technical or trademark or management details. It's not our business but I'm sure that's not why. Please do not change anything it was the best. My grandson loves that place! It's November 7th we are excited to come back.
