The London Symphony Orchestra returns to Steinmetz Hall as part of The 2024/25 Great Orchestra Series

Dr. Phillips Center Presents London Symphony Orchestra, featuring Sir Antonio Pappano, Chief Conductor, and Janine Jansen, Soloist Violin, as part of The 2024/25 Great Orchestra Series.

This not-to-be missed evening takes place on February 26, 2025 at Steinmetz Hall.

Established in 1904, The London Symphony Orchestra was one of the first orchestras shaped expressly by its musicians.

Since then, generations of remarkable talents have built the LSO’s reputation for uncompromising quality and inspirational repertoires. As a leading orchestra for film, they have entertained millions with classic scores for Star Wars, Indiana Jones, The Shape of Water and many more, also reaching a worldwide audience of millions through streaming.

Champions of new music, the LSO regularly commissions some of the foremost British composers to write new works for full orchestra and mixed-ability ensembles, while LSO Discovery’s programs give emerging composers opportunities to collaborate, experiment and write for the Orchestra.

“Among the world’s star soloists” (New York Times), violinist Janine Jansen works regularly with the world’s most eminent orchestras and conductors. Her longstanding orchestra relationships include the Berliner Philharmoniker, Orchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, London Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra of Europe, NHK Symphony, Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, New York Philharmonic Orchestra among others. She plays the Shumsky-Rode Stradivarius from 1715, on generous loan from a European benefactor.
