The Hideaway Bar moves across the street, opening the doors to new home on Virginia Drive

The old location was open all day Sunday until 2am on Monday morning, with the new location opening this week.

As one door closes another door opens...

Orlando's go-to for a no-frills, party time with a drink, The Hideaway Bar has been located at 516 Virginia Dr. Orlando since the 1980's, but the doors are now closed, with the longtime neighborhood favorite moving across the street to 523 Virginia Dr.

The old Hideaway closed on Sunday November 3, with the new Hideaway location opening this week.

The Hideaway Bar is a legendary dive bar opened by the current owner Chip Critcher's mother in 1980, and serves up an eclectic mix of good times, and whether you're craving a cold beer, cocktail, or a stiff shot, The Hideaway has you covered. It's the kind of place where the drinks are cold, the laughs are loud, and the good times roll all night long.

Like the old location, the new location is open seven days a week, 365 days a year from 7am to 2am

At the time of annouincing the move, the bar owner Chip Critcher commented,"Just wanna say thank you to all the wonderful customers of the Hideaway. It's been a great ride. My mom bought the Hideaway in 1980 and I took over 11/16/93. For me, there's been so many childhood memories, life lessons, and unbelievable experiences that will never be forgotten. It truly was the place I grew up in! I love the loyalty of all my customers and the true dedication that they have. It is them-you- that has not only made the Hideaway what it is today, but me who l am. For that I am forever grateful!"

Chip says that the new bar will offer a new experience, but not to expect any major changes to the beer, food, service or atmosphere, It will be different.. but it will be exactly the same!
