Following a turbulent year, The Hammered Lamb has had enough and will shutter its doors before the end of the month.

The Hammered Lamb at Ivanhoe Village to close on January 25

Located in the heart of Ivanhoe Village overlooking Lake Ivanhoe at 1235 N Orange Ave, Orlando since January 2013, The Hammered Lamb has announced that after a turbulent year of business setbacks, the popular pub and eatery is closing its doors forever.

On Monday, Jan. 20, the owner of The Hammered Lamb, Jason Lambert announced the sad news of the closure via Instagram. Sharing that despite best efforts to keep the struggling business open, he will unfortunately be closing the doors on Saturday, January 25 following a 12 year Anniversary and Goodbye Party all in one!

The day will include one last Hammered Brunch from 10 am - 4 pm, followed by Sunset Happy Hour and the Anniversary and Goodbye Party.

Jason commented, "Come and hang out with us one last time! Clear us out of what we’ve got left, hug the staff and give them and The Hammered Lamb a proper send off."

The closure of The Hammered Lamb follows a year of struggles for the business with ongoing construction in the Lake Ivanhoe area crippling the business over the last 12 months.

The struggles were made worse when early last year, the Orlando Sentinel incorrectly reported that the bar had received an unfavorable health inspection report. A claim that the newspaper later corrected as a mistake.

Owner Jason Lambert then issued an appeal for community support in September last year, sounding the alarm bells for the future of the business, Jason commented, "To be blunt, we are struggling to survive. So now, we’re looking to you. Our community. Our home. It is an extremely humbling experience to have to ask for help, but we need it."

To help shore up finances, an online fundraiser was launched, and the bar went dark on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Now, despite these efforts, The Hammered Lamb has sadly had to admit defeat, and owner Jason Lambert is urging customers to visit before the bar goes dark. "Please come out and support the staff during the week for lunch, happy hour or late hight! We are open regular hours this week. Closed on Tuesday."

Jason also expressed his gratitute to the local community, "Being a part of this community has been the greatest gift and to the everyone who has passed through these doors to support our dream - thank you so much! To the people who have worked with us and made this place a home for so many - without you, this wouldn’t have existed. We’re grateful for every single one of you and the heart you’ve poured into The Lamb over the years. Ultimately, as one door closes another opens. So, let’s close this chapter the only way we know how to - getting hammered while the trains pass by. See you on Saturday, or beforehand."
