The patriotic attraction located in Liberty Square at Magic Kingdom Park will close on Inauguration Day.
Walt Disney World has revealed that The Hall of Presidents attraction located in Liberty Square at Magic Kingdom Park will close for refurbishment beginning Monday, January 20, 2025 — inauguration day.
Disney have not specified how long the attraction will be closed, only commenting that, “The Hall of Presidents will temporarily close for refurbishment on January 20, 2025, and is expected to reopen later in 2025.”
The Hall of Presidents features Audio-Animatronics of every U.S. president, and a new animatronic is introduced whenever a new presidents take office.
The refurbishment is expected to see Disney remove the President Joe Biden animatronic from its central position within the show to a different location on the stage, while moving President Donald Trump center stage once again.
When President Trump was elected in 2016, he recorded the oath of office and a speech for the attraction, however it is not known if this will be reused or a new audio track recored.
The Hall of Presidents is homw to realistic Audio-Animatronics replicas of every President of the United States, and features a speech delivered by George Washington and a recorded performance by the latest President.
Originally conceived as animated wax figures, the Presidents didn’t meet Walt Disney’s approval, so he tasked Walt Disney Imagineering to develop the first Audio-Animatronics figure in human form.
The result was the groundbreaking Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln, which debuted at the 1964 New York World’s Fair. The Hall of Presidents built upon the show’s legacy—expanding it to all Presidents—when it opened in 1971.
The show is approximately 25 minutes long and runs continuously throughout the day.
