The Capital Grille’s acclaimed summer wine event, "The Generous Pour" returns for its 16th year

Wine enthusiasts rejoice! The Capital Grille’s acclaimed summer wine event - The Generous Pour – is returning for its 16th year.

Now through September 1 at The Capital Grille in Orlando, The Generous Pour offers guests a unique wine tasting and educational experience curated by the restaurant's sommeliers. Inspired by the theme “Elevations - The Nature of Wine”, guests will go on a curated wine journey through California’s coastal growing regions of Sonoma, Mendocino and Santa Barbara.

The Generous Pour includes samples of seven exceptional wines that are hand-selected to pair with dry-aged steaks to fresh seafood and more.

Designed to educate guests on notable wine varietals and how to select and pair them, the experience allows diners a chance to expand their palate with wines new to them, while discovering favorites along the way.

Price starting at $45 with the purchase of a dinner entrée, here is this year’s wine lineup:

Mendocino’s Copain Rosé of Pinot Noir features aromas of strawberry, papaya, mint, lilac, fresh flowers and wet stones.
Pairing Recommendation: Pan-Fried Calamari with Hot Cherry Peppers.

Sonoma’s Matanzas Creek Winery Sauvignon Blanc features aromas of lime, lemon, nectarine, melon, white flowers, lemongrass and bosc pear.
Pairing Recommendation: Lobster & Crab Cake with Lemon Basil Aioli.

Santa Barbara’s Brewer Clifton “Cellar Selection Chardonnay” (The Capital Grille Exclusive) features aromas of lemon, lime, mandarin orange, jasmine and saline. The Capital Grille directly collaborated with winemaker Greg Brewer to create this unique wine specifically for this year’s Generous Pour. Producing only 37 barrels, once The Generous Pour is over, this Chardonnay will no longer be available.
Pairing Recommendation: Seared Sea Scallops with Maine Lobster and Asparagus Risotto.

Sonoma’s Hartford Court Pinot Noir features aromas of black cherry, blueberry, black currant, wild raspberry, allspice and crushed rock.
Pairing Recommendation: Citrus Glazed Salmon with Marcona Almonds and Brown Butter.

Sonoma’s Bootleg “Prequel” Red Blend features aromas of dark fruit, blueberry compote, lavender, black pepper, black olive and barrel char.
Pairing Recommendation: Double Cut Lamb Rib Chops with Mint Gremolata.

Mendocino’s Edmeades Zinfandel features aromas of cinnamon, clove, blackberries, black currants and dried sage.
Pairing Recommendation: Sliced Filet with Cipollini Onions, Wild Mushrooms and Fig Essence

Sonoma’s Legacy Red Bordeaux features aromas of cassis, blueberry, blackberry, cherry liqueur, licorice, cocoa nib, bay leaf and graphite.
Pairing Recommendation: Porcini Rubbed Bone-In Ribeye with 15-Year Aged Balsamic.
