We don't know if its because of the Christmas spirit, or someone at Universal Orlando just finally noticed that in Universal Studios Florida, The Brown Derby Hat Shop, was looking in a pretty bad way, but whatever the reason, the currently shuttered store is finally receiving a much-needed exterior refurbishment.
This used to be a popular spot for photos, with guests lining up to take a shot with The Brown Derby Hat Shop in the background.
Sadly though, The Brown Derby Hat Shop has been closed, and pretty much unloved for several months now, with the spot being used for nothing more than storage.
Last month construction walls went up around the store with awning and signage removed, now the construction walls are gone and the façade has been repainted.
It does seem strange that the walls have been taken down while the exterior of the space has no signage, or a new canopy for that matter.
Will the space vibe reopening as a store? Who knows, the windows are still covered up, so it's pretty much a case of wait and see...
