The Amazing Acro-Cats, featuring the only all cat-band in the entire world comprising of rescued house cats, and featured in the Netflix series Cat People, are returning to Orlando.
Orlando Family Stage will once again be taken over by the Amazing Acro-Cats who will be performing multiple shows from January 24 - 26, 2025.
This adorable troupe of trained domestic house cats, all former orphans, rescues, and strays, give a one-of-a-kind purr-formance that includes cats riding skateboards, jumping through hoops, balancing on balls, and other feats of agility.
The show finale features the only all-cat band in the world: Tuna and the Rock Cats, with cats playing cowbell, guitar, drums, chimes, xylophone, tambourine, and piano, and the newly added Jazz Cats, playing saxophone, trumpet, and clarinet, seriously, you have to see it to believe this talented troupe of cats!
Tickets are available direct from the event's organizers, via PurplePass:
In addition to the shows, The Amazing Acro-Cats will once again host an Acro-Cat training class at the Orlando Cat Café on Wednesday, January 22. Tickets can be purchased from their website.
How do you train a cat to do complex stunts? Chief Executive Human (CEH) Samantha Martin uses clicker training, a technique involving only positive reinforcement, to train her troupe. Samantha and her assistants, and the Acro-Cats, tour the U.S. in their catified bus, which often is also home to a litter of foster kittens.
In addition to being on Cat People, the Amazing Acro-Cats have been featured on national TV shows including The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Animal Planet's Puppy Bowl, CBS News Sunday Morning, and PBS Nova's Cat Tales.
Rock Cats Rescue, Inc. is the nonprofit parent company of The Amazing Acro-Cats, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that is dedicated to saving cats “one click at a time.”
They support the Amazing Acro-Cat troupe in their mission to educate the public on the benefits of clicker training cats. They provide The Amazing Acro-Cats “catified” tour bus with incubators and supplies to foster bottle feed kittens requiring 24-hour care, and help to provide donations to rescues and shelters they partner with on the road.
They fund the medical and housing needs of our Acro-Cat troupe, as well as all of the retired Acro-Cats and rescues, to ensure they have the best cat life paw-ssible. Their mission also includes an expansion in education and demonstrations to initiate clicker training programs in rescues and shelters across the nation!
