Central Florida’s popular Mexican street food brand grow both their business and family with the arrival of new restaurant and new baby this spring!
Central Florida’s popular purveyor of fresh and tasty tamales have a lot to celebrate. Owners Fernando and Jennifer Tamayo are thrilled to announce the opening of their second full-service restaurant, Tamale Co. Modern Mexican Kitchen & Bar, coming soon to College Park.
The restaurant will have the same essence and menu as the Hourglass location, modeling a modern yet traditional Mexican décor and featuring all the favorite delicious tamales and Mexican style street food representing Fernando and Jennifer’s hometown and roots, plus the addition of new menu items exclusive for College Park.
The larger, 2,935 square foot location will also feature a full bar and table service.
“We are overjoyed and deeply grateful for the incredible journey Central Florida has taken Tamale Co. on, helping us grow at every stage,” says Fernando and Jennifer Tamayo. “We hope the College Park community will embrace us with the same warmth and support that the Hourglass neighborhood has. This expansion is a beautiful reflection of the love we’ve received from the community we grew up in, and it affirms that we’re on the right path.”
Tamale Co. College Park is slated to open just in time for Cinco de Mayo and also just as the Tamayo’s mark a huge milestone and welcome their first child, a son.
They continue, “Baby Fernando Jr. is a blessing, and we know he brings luck. It’s scary to have two babies arrive at the same time, but all good fortune comes in pairs, life will be so much more exciting, and we can’t wait to watch our son grow up in Tamale Co. and meet all of our longtime guests and friends who have supported us through the years and become family. Expansion is always in our plans. It’s been a long journey, and the path keeps on growing, soon with Tamale Co. College Park and our best adventure yet, baby Tamayo!”
