Every year, on the morning of December 24th, hundreds of Surfing Santas come together on Cocoa Beach for a morning of family fun on the beach, a surf event like no other, and this year the event has a new location!
Surfing Santas 2023 will be in a new location, organisers have confirmed. The event will still be taking place in Cocoa Beach, just down the road at Shepard Park.
Organisers say the the move will bring many benefits to the Christmas Eve event that keeps on getting bigger every year.
Benefits include more beachfront and nearby parking, hopefully meaning less stressful traffic jams with attendees able to arrive directly from north, south and west, plus, guests in the nearby beachside hotels can walk to the venue.
This year there will be handicap parking and easy access to the beach!
Another benefit will be room for food trucks to participate, with space for families or friends to hang out or picnic after the event.
It is one block from the Florida Surf Museum, which actually hosts the event -- this will provide the opportunity for more people to actually visit the museum!
Hundreds of surfers and thousands of spectators dressed in holiday-themed outfits are expected to participate this year, with live music, Hawaiian dance demonstrations, and the ever popular costume content.
Anyone can participate by dressing in the christmas-themed outfit of their choice, and prizes will be awarded for best babies, children, groups, men, and women!
