Succumb to the temptation as Opera del Sol presents Dracula The Musical this October

Literature’s most notorious monster takes the stage at downtown's CityArts this Fall. Frank WIldhorn’s Dracula the Musical will feature some of Orlando’s favorite performers In an immersive and musical retelling of Bram Stoker’s classic novel as interpreted by Opera del Sol.

This October, Opera del Sol will take to the stage at CityArts in an immersive and musical retelling of Bram Stoker’s classic novel, Dracula.

Dracula The Musical is a thrilling drama of suspense and a Gothic romance of dreamlike temptation from the extraordinary team of Christopher Hampton, Don Black and Frank Wildhorn (Jekyll & Hyde, The Civil War).

Set in Europe at the end of the Victorian Age, the story follows the famed vampire as he lusts for new blood. Jonathan Harker and Mina Murray fall victim to Dracula's unnatural charm and, along with Doctor Van Helsing, must fight Dracula's supernatural powers.

Dracula will enthrall audiences with its powerful score and its potential for showcasing dark or gothic sets and costumes. Stagecraft experts will love bringing the undead to life in this haunting musical of unrequited love.

This immersive experience will not take place in a theatre, with Opera del Sol opting for the non-traditional space in CityArts gallery to explore the audience's deepest fears and darkest desires, while questioning reality itself.

The production takes place at CityArts, 39 S Magnolia Ave, Orlando fro October 20 - 29, 2023.

Due to the unique venue, this intimate performance can only accommodate 90 patrons per performance. With a limited six performance run, this production is expected to sell out quickly.

Founded in 2017 by Nicole Dupre, Opera del Sol's mission is to change the way we experience opera and performance art by creating curated, conceptual productions in unexpected places.

To strengthen their footprint in the Central Florida arts community, Opera del Sol merged with Central Florida Vocal Arts in 2018 and has been operating as a program under the CFVA umbrella ever since!
