Starting alert Orlando! There is the potential for severe weather in Central Florida today, Wednesday April 26, with the potential for large hail, damaging winds and very heavy rain.
The National Weather service in Melbourne have issued a severe thunderstorm watch for much of Central Florida, including here in Orlando until 9 pm.
Most of Central Florida is under a rare Level 3 (or very likely) risk for severe storms.
The timeline for these storms to form is between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.
There is a risk for severe storms including the threat of large, damaging hail, gusty winds, frequent lightning, a brief tornado, and heavy downpours.
Due to the forecasted thunderstorms throughout the day, Orlando International Airport have warned that airline operations may be impacted with flight delays and or cancellations and baggage delivery delays.
The airport is asking that you check with your airline directly for any updates regarding your flight.
