The former Magnuson Hotel Marina Cove in St Pete officially reopens as the SkyBeach Hotel and Marina on July 5.
Located at the southern tip of St. Petersburg at 6800 Sunshine Skyway Lane South, the resort which closed its doors in 2000, had fallen into series disrepair, before being purchased in 2022 by investor Ben Willner for around $17 million.
Wilner has spent the last two years renovating the property, breathing new life into the once popular resort.
Now named SkyBeach Hotel & Marina, the stunning 18-acre waterfront resort features 113 renovated guest rooms, a private beachfront, a rebuilt marina with 29 boat slips, a sports complex named Southside Sports, including pickleball courts, a two-story beachfront bar, a cafe, a food truck, and much more.
SkyBeach Hotel & Marina will host its grand opening celebration July 5 – 7, opening the door to allow guests the opportunity to view the transformed resort which soft-opened in May.
Guests to the resort during the opening celebrations will be able to view and book renovated guest rooms, view and enjoy the restaurants and bars, featuring free live entertainment, together with food and drinks specials.
Guests can also enjoy exciting sports and activities, with special surprises planned throughout the weekend.
