The South American-born Spoleto Italian Kitchen had planned to open its second Central Florida location in December last year, but delays have changed the opening timeline.
Spoleto Italian Kitchen was founded in 1999 in Rio de Janeiro by Eduardo Ourivio and Mario Chady. Since its inception, they have grown to over 300 stores in South America.
In 2015, they decided to broaden their horizon and move North to the United States. They settled on Central Florida, opened their first store near the University of Central Florida, with their second location opened shortly after at the Florida Mall. This was followed by openings in Winter Park, and Windermere.
Then in May 2020, all four Central Florida locations closed with the company citing the covid pandemic as the reason for the shutdown.
Next up was a relaunch for the brand in Central Florida, with the June 2022 opening of a location at the Marketplace at Avalon Park, with a new location in Winter Garden announced back in November last year.
The new Winter Garden location will be located at 21. S. Main St., which was set to open in December, 2024, but due to construction delays they have now pushed the opening to mid-February.
