Big changes are coming to the once thriving Seminole Towne Center, transforming the property into an exciting new mixed-use district.

Sanford is abuzz as The Ardent Companies, a private-held real estate firm, has successfully closed on a transaction to acquire 76 acres of Seminole Town Center, paving the way for a major new development.
The Ardent Companies is a privately held real estate firm based in Atlanta, who intends to redevelop Seminole Towne Center ,which first opened to the public in 1995, into a vibrant mixed-use destination that will include new retail, multifamily and a hotel.
Major anchor tenants not included in the redevelopment, Elev8, JC Penney, Dillards, and Dicks Sporting Goods will all remain while the reimagining of Seminole Towne Center gets underway.
"We could not be more excited to become a part of the Sanford community," said Matt Shulman, CEO of The Ardent Companies. "We will work in close collaboration with the City of Sanford and other stakeholders to redevelop this site into a mixed-use district that will once again serve as an exciting hub of activity for residents and visitors. We look forward to sharing more details soon."
Sanford Mayor Art Woodruff added, "The residents of Sanford, and the entire region, are excited to see the Ardent team bring commerce and vitality back to this critical economic center."
"The scope of this project will amount to the largest retail redevelopment in Seminole County's history," said Sanford Director of Economic Development, Brady Lessard. "The entire area will once again have a magnificent footprint to live, work, and enjoy visiting."
The redevelopment of the mall will see much of the mall demolished, with the addition of top tier retail, multiple hotels/restaurants, a significant recreation footprint, and a residential component the City has previously approved.
The level of new business interest on the retail and entertainment front continues to grow. More recent announcements include: California Pizza Kitchen, a Guy Fieri concept, and a boutique movie theater concept. Plus, ait is thought that Costco will be opening a store within the new look Seminole Towne Center.
