Quantum Leap Winery has announced via social media that they are to permanently close their tasting room located at The Cottage at Lake Fairview on April 19.

The Lake Fairview site at 4410 Edgewater Drive, Orlando. has been home to Quantum Leap since June 2024. Previous to the Edgewater Drive location, Quantum Leap was located on Wilfred Drive in the Mills 50 district for twelve years. but that location was sold by the landlord, forcing Quantum Leap to move out in April 2024.

So what now for Quantum Leap Winery? Owner, David Forrester has shared an update on the future of the company in light share the news that they are closing their tasting room at Lake Fairview.

David commented that they are closing the tasting room due to, "site complexities and zoning challenges make the site problematic and difficult with too much uncertainty for longer term use."

The good news for Quantum Leap customers is that they are to continue producing wine locally, and distributing it to their existing customer base, via their Wine Club, and sales (online, by phone or at pop- ups with local delivery), with their wine making operation at their North Edgewater Drive location continuing.

They also plan to attend various venues, pop-ups, and in various ways around the City Beautiful.

Quantum Leap say that they have no plans to re-open a Tasting Room. "A year of looking at the Orlando real estate market has me fairly certain that a tasting room approach as we have tried in the past is simply not economically feasible due to the high prices and zoning challenges in the market. We will keep all possibilities on the table and in the near term we look forward to partnering with many of our hospitality friends on interesting events and get-togethers."

David went on to thank everyone for their support, "Thank you to our team and the village of supporters who have made Quantum Leap a vibrant part of the community for years. Thank you to you, customers, friends and partners of Quantum Leap." He continued, "It has been our honor and privilege to serve you all. Without your support, there would be no Quantum Leap. We hope you will come sip some wine at sunset through 4/19, continue to purchase our wine and visit our website as we schedule events, pop-ups and who knows what else."
