Everyone is invited to see the beautiful Inspiration Orlando United mural at Orlando Museum of Art, the mural is a visual narrative showing how courageous acts of compassion revealed a heart of love and kindness in The City Beautiful.
As we approach the seventh anniversary of the Pulse tragedy here in Orlando where 49 beautiful lives were taken and 53+ injured, The Orlando Museum of Art is hosting a free community event to commemorate that fateful day.
The Inspiration Orlando United: In Remembrance Of Pulse Event will take place at The Orlando Museum Of Art on June 12, 2023 at 5 pm.
Immediately following the tragedy, Michael Pilato, Yuriy Karabash and Chimene Hurst formed and led a collaborative team to create a unique mural titled "Inspiration Orlando United."
The Inspiration Orlando United mural features the 49 victims who lost their lives on the night, and the two survivors who passed within a year of the shooting, the mural also feature a selection of survivors, first responders, and caregivers.
This mural’s mission is to engage and utilize public art to transform this tragic event into a visual shared history with stories of treasured lives, inspirational responses and selfless acts of leadership, love and hope.
Initially installed on the wall of the historic Burton’s Bar and Grille on E Washington St, Orlando, the mural was removed and has been exhibited in various locations, and now as Orlando Museum of Art gets ready to unveil this beautiful tribute, everyone is invited to join the museum to attend this tribute event and hear from community members honoring the lives lost and impacted by the horrific event.

The Inspiration Orlando United mural will be on view in the museum rotunda from Tuesday, June 13, through Friday, June 16.
The rotunda is open to the public during regular museum hours: Tuesday – Friday, 10 am to 4 pm; Saturday and Sunday, 12 pm to 4 pm.
