Sad news as yet another popular and well know Central Florida restaurant has closed its doors.
The popular Winter Park restaurant, Farm and Haus, located at 526 S Park Ave in Winter Park has sadly closed its doors, becoming the latest restaurant to close in a recent spate of closures throughout Central Florida.
Citing tough business conditions for the closure, the loss of Farm and Haus can be attributed to the tough times that many small business owners are currently facing.
In the past week alone, Central Florida has lost Ethos Vegan Kitchen, Chuck Lager Legendary Kitchen, Valkyrie Doughnuts, and Bandbox!
Owned and operated by husband and wife team, Brittany Walsh Lyne and Patrick Lyne, Farm and Haus began 10 years ago as a dinner delivery service before being offered a spot in the East End Market incubator kitchen in 2016.
They then moved to a permanent counter spot within East End Market, they then expandedm opening their Winter Park restaurant in 2022.
In January this year, the couple closed their spot in East End Market to concentrate on the Winter Park restaurant.
Now several month later, the couple have announced on Instagram that the Winter Park restaurant has closed.
Commenting on the closure, Patrick and Brittany reflected on the last ten years, "It’s been a beautiful journey full of the highest highs, and also the lowest lows. Throughout these 10 years, we started and grew our family, welcoming 3 little ones. We met and formed community with so many of you, both inside the industry and out- many of whom we now call our dearest friends."
They went on to explain the reason for the closure, "We have grown and our priorities have changed. It is no longer just about us, but is now about our family, which every decision is made for.With that said, the past year and a half has been the most challenging time that we have faced both personally and professionally- and we’re not alone. Make no mistake, it is a tough time for small business owners everywhere.It is for this reason, and so many others, that we have made the decision to close our doors."
