In recent years, Oviedo Mall has been pushing back against a declining amount of tenants, and shoppers, which once threatened the mall with extinction.
Mall bosses brought in new tenants including District Eat & Play with bowling, axe throwing, escape rooms, live entertainment and more, plus, new food and drink options that encourage visitors to spend their leisure time in the mall.
Plus, they created imaginative events, and more to encourage people to return the mall, for example they now offer a night market, parents nights out, a kids club, and of course, right now the Oviedo Mall Carnival is in full swing.
The latest idea from the mall is to encourage teens into the mall, unlike other malls around the country that are banning teens!

The new program called the “Mall Rat Club” for teens 13 to 17 years, is being launched in an effort to bring in a younger crowd according to mall management.
The Oviedo Mall Teen Club is geared towards teenager visitors, and will officially launch on March 1, 2023, and will feature special shopping and dining discounts for teenagers aged 13 to 17 years old.
The Club will also have monthly outings and activities throughout the mall including private movie screenings.

"With so many malls around the country enacting curfews and escort programs for their young guests, we wanted to try a different approach in an effort to curb some of the issues we’ve been having with teens,” Director of Marketing and Events Josh Gunderson said.
Starting Wednesday, parents can start enrolling their children into the program to receive discounts and a list of monthly activities. The program officially begins on March 1.
Once their application has been processed, teens and their parents will be able to visit the mall’s management office to receive their membership card, which will gain them access to their exclusive discounts and activities through the year.
Some of the discounts include 15% off at District Eat & Play, Auntie Anne’s, Legacy Taekwondo Academy and Wizards and Lizards Craft Studio.
There will also be private movie screenings for members, GellyBall tournaments at District Eat & Play and a private paint night at Calliope Street.
