The Orlando Museum of Art (OMA) has announced its next Access for All event in partnership with the Art Bridges Foundation, offering free admission to the museum from 10 am to 8 pm on Thursday, February 20. This program demonstrates OMA's ongoing dedication to fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment in the arts, where all members of the community can experience the transformative power of art.
"OMA is committed to breaking down barriers to accessibility and ensuring that the arts are available to everyone," said Cathryn Mattson, CEO of the Orlando Museum of Art. "The Access for All initiative, made possible due to the generous support of the Art Bridges Foundation, allows us to do this."
The February 20 Event Schedule Includes:
10:30 am - 12 pm Immersive Sound Bath by Imane El Ghazouani and Tuesday Villane
12 - 1 pm Art Sandwiched In ¨C An Introduction to Art Conservation
Stephanie Conforti, a local paintings conservator with over 30 years of experience in the field, will discuss the role of fine art conservation and its importance in collection management.
2:30 - 3:30 pm Gallery Talk
Learn more about the Relationships: A Love of Collecting exhibition.
3.30 - 4.30 pm Gallery Talk (Spanish)
5 - 7 pm Sketching in the Galleries
Drawing and sketching supplies will be available for artists of all ages to use.
5 - 6 pm Immersive Sound Bath by Imane El Ghazouani and Tuesday Villane
6 - 8 pm La CinOMAth¨¨que
View Blood of a Poet by Jean Cocteau.
7 - 8 pm Docent-Led Tour
Follow along with a docent highlighting various works from gallery to gallery.
Guests are also encouraged to view the museum's Relationships: A Love for Collecting, Edouard Prulhire: The Inverted Sound of Painting, and Material World: Transcending the Object in Collage and Assemblage Works from the Permanent Collection exhibitions.
