Airports Council International North America has released its 2023 Traffic Summary and its good news for MCO.
Airports Council International – North America (ACI-NA), the trade association representing commercial service airports in the United States and Canada, last week released its 2023 North American Airport Traffic Summary containing passenger, cargo, and aircraft operations data from 275 North American airports.
Orlando International (MCO) was ranked 7th busiest for passenger traffic among U.S. airports in 2023 and saw the largest growth at 15%, compared to 2022. ACI also recently released 2023 international traffic totals, and MCO ranked 18th. MCO remains the busiest airport in Florida.
Passenger Traffic
Passenger traffic in the U.S. continued recovering in 2023 with a 11.9 percent increase over 2022 levels. While domestic passenger traffic increased by 9.5 percent in 2023, international passenger traffic showed a strong recovery with 27.9 percent growth over 2022 levels.
The Greater Orlando Aviation Authority operates Orlando International Airport (MCO) and Orlando Executive Airport (ORL), two of Florida’s premier air travel gateways. MCO is a world-class global connector, serving more than 57 million annual passengers across its three terminals, A, B and C. Connected to an Intermodal Terminal Facility that offers high-speed passenger rail service, Terminal C is an inventive structure that elevates the customer experience with 100% automated screening lanes at TSA checkpoints. ORL is conveniently located just miles from downtown Orlando and provides vital general aviation access to the heart of the region.
