With the threat of major damage from Hurricane Milton now over, Orlando International Airprot are hopeful of resuming commercial operations soon.
Yesterday morning, October 9 at 8am, Orlando International Airport (MCO) and Orlando Executive Airport (ORL) ceased commercial passenger and private operations in advance of the threat of severe weather from an advancing Hurricane Milton.
Now as Hurricae Milton exits over the east coast into the Atlantic causing less damage to Central Florida as predicted, Orlando International has issued an update.
Emergency crews remained onsite overnight, and already this morning, Thursday, October 10, damage assessment is already underway, and once information becomes available about a specific time that commercial operations will resume, the airport will provide another update.
The Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA), which manages and operates both MCO and ORL, continues to advise passengers to check with their airlines for specific flight information.
