This beloved classic is reimagined with breathtaking choreography, vibrant costumes, and stunning set designs that will transport audiences to Neverland.

Experience a story of adventure, fantasy, and whimsy as Orlando Ballet presents Peter Pan. Follow free-spirited Peter Pan on a daring journey as he invites Wendy to Neverland to care for his gang of Lost Boys.
The journey ensues with a near-death encounter for Tinker Bell, a climactic confrontation with Peter’s nemesis – the infamous pirate, Captain Hook – and even on-stage flight (but only if you think happy thoughts…).
From the creative mind of Orlando Ballet Artistic Director, Jorden Morris, creator of Orlando Ballet's The Nutcracker, Peter Pan takes flight at Dr. Phillips Center’s Steinmetz Hall from February 20 - 23, 2025.
When it comes to dance, choreographer Jorden Morris approaches it like a swashbuckler – he is brave and edgy which explains why his enchanting production of the classic tale of Peter Pan includes an abundance of flying, sword fighting, an empowered Wendy and plenty of extraordinary dance that always leaves audiences swooning.
Morris’ ability to create wonderfully imaginative ballets that preserve the traditions and beloved elements of the stories he is retelling with charm validates why this balletic production remains an historic sellout. Peter Pan flies on the heels of a remarkable and sold-out run for the company’s new production of The Nutcracker, which was also created by Morris. These two productions particularly reflect Orlando Ballet’s ability to deliver bold artistic experiences that draw individuals, couples and families from all walks of life to be entertained and uplifted.

“There is so much thought and intention behind telling a story through dance and music
with these classic tales that have been a part of everyone’s lives for decades,” Morris said.
“Presenting a bright and fresh production while protecting and preserving the nature of
these classics is why we are able to build new generations of audiences that will enjoy
ballet and the performing arts for years to come.”
Morris is known for his respect for tradition balanced by his ability to incorporate new and
timely elements such as presenting Peter Pan’s friend, Wendy, as a strong female characterwho takes charge and makes tough decisions while also showing Peter and his band of
Lost Boys the importance of family and love.
“Peter was happiest when he was taking risks and having adventures, which are my
creative drivers,” Morris says. “His life was more than just a fairy tale about a wild young boy
but was a way for J.M. Barrie to tell a story that is fundamentally about the importance of
family-- all told through a prism of whimsy and sparkle.”
Orlando Ballet’s epic production of Peter Pan opens Thursday, Feb 20 and runs through
Sunday, Feb. 23, 2025.

This is the full version of Peter Pan, first performed by Orlando Ballet in 2021, which was
abbreviated due to audience restrictions during the pandemic. “That means this production contains more flying, dancing and more fairy dust than ever,” Morris revealed.
Of special note is that Morris designed the score with a selection of music that was either
written or performed by composers during the time period when J.M. Barrie was actually
writing his beloved tale of a young boy who never wanted to grow up.

“We all know and love these characters, so I’ve taken my favorite elements of J.M. Barrie’s
story and created choreography that makes everyone come to life making them feel more
real, even when they’re soaring 30 feet above the stage,” Morris said, adding that the gasp-
prompting aerial performances are made possible by Flying by FOY , considered the
world’s leader in theatrical flying experiences. The traditional story of Peter and his band of Lost Boys is more than about a slightly rebellious boy but includes an uplifting message about the importance of childhood, having family, and love. Morris, who began his career as a dancer, explains that ballet is a serious art form that also allows for boundless creativity. “Just as in J.M. Barrie’s book, in this production, Peter is still the excited, wild boy we all know, but through dance and music, the audience can enjoy the beloved elements of the story all over again through an
entirely new experience.”

“I admit, I love this ballet because I love Peter’s youthful perspective about life,” Morris
says. “This is a particularly challenging production for our dancers but they thrive on the
challenge so their joy of performing this story can be felt by everyone. That is the magic of
telling stories through movement and music.”
