Veterans Day is a day to recognize the bravery, sacrifice, and patriotism of veterans and serves as an opportunity for the nation to express gratitude for their service and dedication.
November marks National Veteran and Military Families Month, highlighted by Veterans Day on Monday, November 11, 2024.
Veterans Day is a time to say thank you to our veteran’s and service members, and to appreciate their sacrifices for our country.
Many cities and communities organize parades and ceremonies to honor veterans, and here in Central Florida there is many events to support, celebrate and recognize our veterans on Veterans Day.

Join us at our annual Veterans Day Ceremony as we honor and pay tribute to the military men and women who have served our country! The city is honored to have Retired Marine Corps Maj. Barron Mills as our keynote speaker.
Having grown up as the son of a career Army officer, and then serving in the Marine Corps himself for 20 years, Maj. Mills has been on five continents and to dozens of countries. His prior experiences include leading Marines on missions in the Mediterranean, Haiti, Cuba, Iraq and Afghanistan.
The Ocoee Middle School Wind Ensemble will play a medley of songs. The Ocoee Police Department and Fire Department Honor Guard will present the colors and carry a wreath to be set in place at the city’s Memorial Wall and an Ocoee High School Band member will play “Taps”. Refreshments will be served after the ceremony.

The City of Winter Park will host its 14th Annual Veterans Day Celebration, Friday, November 8, at 10 a.m. The event will be held at the Winter Park CommunityCenter Ruby Ball Amphitheater adjacent to Shady Park at Hannibal Square located at 721 W. New England Ave. All veterans that have served in any military campaign or branch in honor of our nation’s freedom are invited to attend for our community to pay tribute to their dedicated service to our country. At 9:30 a.m., the public is invited to visit with organizations that offer resources specifically for veteran needs as the VFW Post 2093 Community Band entertains guests. At 10 a.m., the official program begins.

The Founders/Veterans Day Parade will step off at 10 a.m., the march begins at Lakeside Park, moving along Front Street to Market Street, turning onto Celebration Avenue, before ending at Founders Park.

We are excited to announce that the event will include a half-size replica of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier which will be on display in Ferran Park from Friday, November 8th through Sunday, November 10th.
The original memorial is neoclassical, white marble sarcophagus which stands atop a hill overlooking Washington, D.C. Since 1921, it has provided a final resting place for one of America’s unidentified World War I service members, and Unknowns from later wars were added in 1958 and 1984. The Tomb has also served as a place of mourning and a site for reflection on military service.
The replica offers and opportunity for visitors to experience this tribute closer to home. The display will be open Friday, November 8th (24 hours) and Sunday, November 10th (24 hours) for those who want to have a quieter, peaceful moment to reflect and remember. Saturday, November 9th our annual Salute to Veterans event will take place (10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.), but the memorial will remain available for viewing throughout the day.

Honoring the defenders of our freedom. the parade will take place on Saturday, November 9, 2024 from 10 am in downtown St. Cloud. The parade formation will be at 8:30 am at the St. Cloud boat ramp near Pennsylvania Avenue.

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and his Veterans Advisory Council will honor the courageous men and women of the armed forces at the 25th annual City of Orlando Veterans Day Parade in downtown Orlando.
The Veterans Day Parade is one of Mayor Dyer's Signature Events and this will be the 25th anniversary. This year's theme is "A Legacy of Loyalty and Service."
The opening ceremony will take place at Orange Avenue near Central Boulevard. The parade will begin at Robinson Street and Orange Avenue, turning left on Central Boulevard, left on Rosalind Avenue and ending at Robinson Street.

Kick off the special night of honor, remembrance and gratitude with the Honors Ceremony featuring an Honor Guard presentation, singers and musicians, special guests and local elected officials, followed by the Patriotic Parachute Team, illuminated by red and blue flares, descending from the sky.
