Next Generation Ballet's Nutcracker returns to the stage at Straz Center for the Holidays

In news to warm the heart, Tampa's much loved holiday tradition, Next Generation Ballet's Nutcracker returns to the Straz Center from Dec. 20-23.

Now a glittering Tampa holiday tradition, Next Generation Ballet’s Nutcracker includes principal dancers from powerhouse companies alongside NGB's award-winning young dancers.

This family-friendly favorite takes audiences into Clara and Drosselmeyer's fantastical world of dancing sweets, sword-fighting rodents and some of ballet's most famous music.

Next Generation Ballet's Nutcracker returns to the stage Dec. 20-23, with tickets on sale to the public on July 19.

Next Generation Ballet (NGB) is a stepping stone for great dance talent and the offical ballet

company of the Straz Center for the Performing Arts. Under the direction of Philip Neal, former

New York City Ballet Principal dancer, NGB prepares dancers for professional employment through instruction, coaching and performance opportunities.

The company is committed to the artistic, personal and professional development of outstanding young dancers. Performers in NGB have been awarded scholarships to leading ballet schools worldwide including the Royal Ballet School of England and the School of American Ballet.

Students have also received employment with ballet companies including Boston Ballet, Stuttgart Ballet and New York City Ballet, and have placed first in competitions including Youth America Grand Prix and the World Ballet Competition.
