Project Sanford, The Ritz Theatre, and Dees Brewery are brewing up spooktacular fun all month long for spooky season! Get ready for a fang-tastic time—it's going to be a real scream!

Monsters on Magnolia is creeping back to Sanford this October with multiple events for everyone!

Throughout October, Project Sanford, The Ritz Theatre, and Dees Brewer will deliver a spellbinding series of events in Sanford, blending spooky entertainment, local craft beer, and community spirit.


With something for every Halloween enthusiast, this collaboration promises a unique experience that will light up downtown Sanford in unforgettable ways.

October 12 to 20, 2024

In Mel Brooks' zany spoof Young Frankenstein, Frederick, the reluctant grandson of the infamous Victor Frankenstein, inherits his grandfather's castle in Transylvania and chaos ensues in this live on-stage performance.



Wednesday, October 16

Academy Award winners Jack Nicholson, and Shelley Duvall star in director Stanley Kubrick's disturbing adaptation of Stephen King's blockbuster horror novel. Tickets are available at the door for only $5 per person (Ritz members get in free).



Thursday, October 17 2024

Join Project Sanford for its Alive After 5 event at 230 E 1st Street, downtown Sanford, where ghouls, ghosts, and goblins take over the streets for a frightfully fun Halloween celebration. Free admission.



Saturday, October 26

With Burgers in the Beer Garden, Spooky inspired vendors with Trick Or Treating, Games, Crafts, Kid's Costume Contest and loads of CANDY plus Frightful Photo Ops! We will be finishing the night with an outdoor special feature playing "Hotel Transylvania!" This is a free event with something for the whole family!



Saturday, October 26

The film series (a partnership with the City of Sanford) starts with “Friday the 13th Part 2,” “Halloween,” a dinner break then "Nightmare on Elm Street” for $15 per person and free for Ritz Theater members. If you'd like to see all the films and also have dinner at Dees Brothers Brewery tickets are $30 per person and $15 for Ritz Theater members. The dinner ticket package includes the 3 Ritz films and 1 additional film during dinner at Dees from 6 - 8 pm. Dinner tickets are limited.


The Rocky Horror Picture Film Featuring The Rich Weirdoes Shadowcast

Friday, November 1

Fasten your garter belt and come up to the lab and see what's on the slab! It's the Rocky Horror Picture Show's special shadow-cast edition, a screamingly funny, sinfully twisted salute to sci-fi, horror, B-movies, and rock music, all rolled into one deliciously decadent morsel. This is an 18 and over-only event. Tickets are $20 per person and sell out every year.
