Fred Rogers was the host of the popular long-running public television children's show Mister Rogers' Neighborhood.
Now, you can explore the neighborhood that shaped Mister Rogers on a self-guided walking tour of Rollins College, and find out how the college is keeping his legacy alive on campus.
Along the way, you’ll experience 5 stops, featuring exclusive Mister Rogers memorabilia and artwork and get a feel for how Rollins is educating the next generation of global citizens and responsible leaders.
In honor of Fred's birthday, the tour will be offered from March 3 - March 31, 2025, Monday - Friday 10 am - 4 pm.
Stops on the tour includes a rare collection of books, handwritten letters, photographs, a sweater knitted by Fred Rogers’ mother and worn on his show, and a pair of his famous sneakers.
You can also view the "A Beautiful Day for a Neighbor” sculpture, nestled between the Annie Russell Theatre and Knowles Memorial Chapel.
Created by renowned British Sculptor Paul Day, this 360-degree outdoor sculpture of Mr Rogers stands over 7 feet tall and weighs more than 3,000 pounds.

Everyone’s favorite neighbor, Fred Rogers, whose lessons of kindness, responsibility, and community over the past five decades continue to endure, was the host of the popular long-running public television children's show Mister Rogers' Neighborhood.
The show debuted in Pittsburgh in 1967 and was picked up by PBS the next year, becoming a staple of public TV stations around the United States.
Rogers' mild manner, cardigan sweaters and soft speaking voice made him both widely beloved and widely parodied. Rogers ended production of the show in 2001, but reruns of the show continued to be aired on many PBS stations. He died in 2003 after a short battle with stomach cancer.
