MCO Update: Major Flooding Has Closed Roads Around Orlando International Airport

Orlando International Airport has shared an update this morning, Thursday 29 September, giving an update on the airports status following the overnight arrival of Tropical Storm Ian.


The airport have confirmed that commercial operations will not resume today with no scheduled flights happening.


All roads leading into Orlando International Airport are closed due to flooding at this time.


The roads involved include all major and secondary arteries including Jeff Fuqua Blvd and Heintzelman Blvd, and Bear Rd and Cargo Rd


The airport staff will conduct a damage assessment of the entire facility complex to ensure it's safe to resume operations, with flights expected to resume sometime Friday, Thursday 30 September, pending the damage assessment.


Travelers are advised to contact their airlines directly for information about their specific flights.
