Back in January, LEGOLAND Florida owners, Merlin Entertainments announced that it was outsourcing it's food and beverage operations in the UK and here in the US.
Merlin Entertainments revealed global food service provider Aramark as its food and beverage partner for a multi-year contract.
The locations include UK theme parks, Alton Towers Resort, Chessington World of Adventures Resort, Thorpe Park Resort, Warwick Castle and LEGOLAND Windsor Resort, plus US theme parks, LEGOLAND Florida Resort, and LEGOLAND California Resort.
Now it looks like here in Florida, the deal is moving forward with Aramark set to take over the food and beverage operations at LEGOLAND Florida early in the new year.
LEGOLAND Florida have now filed a WARN notice with the state of Florida stating that
over 500 Legoland employees will become Aramark employees starting January 15, 2022
Afffected positions include food and beverage managers, food and beverage hosts, and hotel sous chefs.
All personnel, duty positions and rates of pay will remain the same once the changeover to Aramark takes effect.
It will be very interesting to see what, if any changes occur with the food and beverage offering at LEGOLAND Florida, including the burning question...
Will the Central Florida theme park still offer Apple Fries!!
Aramark have said that they will be introducing food and beverage programmes that offer family and guests favourites, fresh concepts, fun themes and engaging events, coupled with industry-leading technology solutions to make it easy and convenient for visitors to navigate the varied choices.
Back in January Merlin said that each resort and hotel will have its own unique portfolio of food and beverage offerings based on the personality of the location, so hopefully our apple fries are safe!
