On July 24, heavy metal mainstays Lamb of God and Mastodon bring their monstrous co-headlining summer run to Orlando Amphitheater.
Metal mainstays Lamb Of God and Mastodon have joined forces for a massive co-headlining North American tour this summer, including support from Slayer’s Kerry King, and British metalcore band Malevolence
The tour celebrates the 20th anniversary of Lamb of God’s Ashes of the Wake and Mastodon’s Leviathan, which were both released on the same day back in 2004. Throughout the tour, both albums will be played in full.
The tour kicks off on July 19 in Grand Prairie, Texas at the Texas Trust CU Theatre and will hit amphitheaters and arenas across the U.S. and Canada, including a stop at the Orlando Amphitheater on Wednesday, July 24.
Tickets are still available via TicketMaster, with special VIP ticket packages available for both bands, click here for details.
A portion of the tickets will go to support charities of the artists’ choice. Lamb of God is supporting Living The Dream Foundation, which makes dreams come true for music fans living with life threatening illnesses, and Mastodon is supporting the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research.
Ahead of the tour, Lamb of God have dropped a remix of the classic “Laid to Rest” by HEALTH, which will be included on the upcoming album Ashes of the Wake 20th Anniversary Edition, released on August 30.
On bringing HEALTH onboard for the remix, Lamb of God vocalist Randy Blythe says it was an obvious choice, “When we were discussing ideas for the 20th anniversary of Ashes of the Wake, a HEALTH remix was one of the first things we thought of."
HEALTH on the other hand issued a gentle warning to fans ahead of listening to the remix, “Before you get angry with us for ruining your favorite song, please try to remember that Lamb of God asked us to do this remix. Enjoy!”
The 20th anniversary edition of Ashes of the Wake also features a remixes of “Omertá” by Justin K. Broadrick (Godflesh) and “Another Nail for Your Coffin” by Kublai Khan TX and Malevolence, as well as pre-production demos and live tracks.
