Iconic global restaurant brand Wagamama, is opening its first Florida location in Tampa, to Water Street, home to Tampa’s burgeoning dining scene.
Wagamama, which started in London, back in 1992, is a household name in the U.K. with over 160 restaurants in the U.K., with 200 plus restaurants worldwide.
Currently in the U.S., Wagamama has locations in New York City and Boston, with plans for many more, starting with the new Tampa location!
Wagama will bring its Asian-inspired cuisine to 1050 Water Street, a forthcoming residential development in the larger Water Street Tampa neighborhood, in January 2023.
Spanning 4,200 square feet, Wagamama’s Water Street location will offer a vibrant, social dining experience with its unique recipes that deliver a fresh, modern take on classic Asian-fusion food with its signature variety of noodle dishes, ramens, shareables and craft cocktails.
“With our fresh, flavorful cuisine and engaged, social atmosphere, Wagamama is ideally suited for the Tampa market,” added Richard Flaherty, co-CEO of Wagamama USA. “We knew Water Street Tampa, with its focus on community and vibrant street-level programming, was the perfect fit for our high-quality, high-energy dining experience. We’re thrilled to be part of this exciting new neighborhood and make Water Street Tampa our first location in Florida.”
Spanning 56 acres and connecting Tampa’s central business district to its waterfront, Water Street Tampa is a thriving retail and dining destination in Downtown Tampa, complemented by new public parks, homes and offices.
With Water Street Tampa’s Phase One completing early next year, Wagamama adds to the diverse array of retail offerings that will serve the live-work-play district at all times of day.
Retailers throughout the neighborhood range from ice cream shops and high-end sushi restaurants to fitness studios and local clothing boutiques, and everything in between.
