Dr. Phillips Charities, the community builder of The Packing District, has announced that High Point Climbing and Fitness has broken ground within the planned neighborhood .

The project that we first brought you details on last May, will be the first High Point Climbing And Fitness in Florida. This will be the company’s 9th location, adding to existing facilities in Tennessee and Alabama.

High Point Climbing is an exciting addition to The Packing District, and a perfect fit in the city of Orlando since we have recently been named the #1 best sports business city” said Ken Robinson, president and CEO of Dr. Phillips Charities, via a press release.

Like many other projects in the Packing District including the recently opened 17,300 SF food hall, Great Southern Box Company Food Hall, High Point Climbing and Fitness will convert an existing building within The Packing District.

The warehouse located at 1978 Stanhome Way was built in 1985, with High Point Climbing and Fitness hoping to have the space converted, ready to open in spring 2025.

The full-service gym will include a 52-foot-tall rope climbing area with the only competition speed wall in Florida, along with a large bouldering and training area.

High Point Orlando will also include a 4,000 square foot Kid Zone with specialty climbing elements designed to introduce children to the fun of climbing.

Beyond climbing, the facility will have a fitness area with weights, strength and aerobic machines, a yoga studio, locker rooms with showers and a pro shop to compliment the experience

High Point Climbing and Fitness Co-Founder Johnny O’Brien has commented that the new location will be one of the biggest climbing gyms in the country.

High Point plans to utilize its new location to create a community for the sport in Orlando, and alo hope to host national climbing events in the new facility.

Publix in Orlando's Packing District

Recently, Publix has opened a 27,512 square foot supermarket within the Packing District, located on the same site as the original Dr. Phillips packing house.

The supermarket sits behind the replica Dr Phillips Juice Stand, which is home to Ravenous Pig Brewery, Kelly’s Homemade Ice Cream, and Foxtail Coffee.

The Packing District is a 202-acre site, preserving and recapturing a defining part of our community’s history while providing a vibrant base of living and commerce.

Historic buildings are being repurposed, integrated with new uses, and connected to dedicated public spaces by a new and bold plan for urban trails and a new 100-acre public park (gifted to the City of Orlando) dedicated to health and wellness, education, arts and community, and sustainability.
