GivingTuesday: Dr. Phillips Center Kicks Off It's 2023 Community Giveback Initiative

In the spirit of GivingTuesday, the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts here in Orlando is looking to raise $10,000 to treat hundreds to see Broadway’s award-winning show Wicked which is coming to the Dr Phillips Center from January 25 through February 12, 2023.

The Dr. Phillips Center’s community giveback initiative is one of many ways that the downtown arts center furthers its vision of Arts For Every Life in the local community with the help of generous donors and partners.

The initiative provides people from every walk of life the opportunity to experience award-winning Broadway shows at the Dr. Phillips Center.

During the past five Broadway seasons, the arts center has treated over 3,000 beneficiaries to Hamilton, Frozen, Aladdin and The Lion King.

“During our most recent community giveback initiative, we treated over 1,200 students, teachers, families, community organizations, first responders and veterans to a memorable experience of Hamilton, thanks to generous support from donors and sponsors who helped us raise $236,000,” said Kathy Ramsberger, president and CEO of the Dr. Phillips Center.

“We hope this GivingTuesday will give us a head start in our goal to treat guests to ‘Wicked’ during the initiative’s next activation in February.”

Since its opening in 2014, the arts center has contributed over $15.4 million to its vision of Arts For Every Life® through various education, community outreach and social engagements, including its community giveback initiative.

“We built the performing arts center with everyone in our community in mind and are very intentional about creating initiatives that help us increase the accessibility to the arts and that is made possible by our growing family of generous supporters,” said Ramsberger.
