Gaylord Palms Resort Orlando sparkles this summer with Pool Parties, Drone Shows and Glow Parties

Celebrate summer at Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Kissimmee with nighttime drone show, daytime pool party, nighttime glow party at the water park and more.

Drone Shows and Glow Parties highlight a summer of excitement at Gaylord Palms Resort Orlando

Gaylord Palms guests are invited to join the resort’s summer celebration featuring a new,

nighttime drone show, daytime pool bash and evening Aqua Glow party, an interactive frozen cocktail and mocktail cycling experience, and more.

Headlining the summertime festivities is a new aerial show, “Sounds of America: A Nighttime Spectacular,” that takes to the skies on select nights and features more than 200 colorful drones choreographed to an original Gaylord Hotels musical score.

Hotel guests have prime viewing spots on the resort’s Coquina Lawn where the soundtrack will be

piped in and synchronized to the sparkling drones overhead. “Sounds of America: A Nighttime Spectacular” is scheduled at 9 p.m. on June 7, June 14, June 28, July 3, July 5, July 19, July 26, Aug. 9, Aug. 10, Aug. 30 and Sept. 1.

Also new for summer 2024: Gaylord Palms guests can experience a complete day (and night) of splash-tastic fun with two summertime parties at Cypress Springs Water Park, as the “Sunshine Splash Bash” highlights daytime festivities and the “Aqua Glow Pool Party” lights up the night.

Here’s a rundown of the summer fun at Gaylord Palms, with full schedules and ticket information available at https://bit.ly/summeratgaylordpalms:

Aerial Lights, Spectacular Nights

The skies high above Gaylord Palms come to life with synchronized, brightly colored drones in the all-new “Sounds of America: A Nighttime Spectacular” show. Hundreds of drones lift off and paint the skies in a luminous tapestry of aerial art. Illuminated images appear overhead in a symphony of sight and sound, featuring an original Gaylord Hotels musical soundtrack.

Guests can see the show and hear the soundtrack on Coquina Lawn at 9 p.m. on 6/7; 6/14; 6/28; 7/3; 7/5; 7/19; 7/26; 8/9; 8/10; 8/30; and 9/1. (Schedule subject to change.)

Water Park Glows After Dark

As the Florida sun starts to set, the 3-acre Cypress Springs Water Park glows in bright neon with a DJ spinning poolside party tunes during the new “Aqua Glow Pool Party.” Guests can get their faces painted in bright colors as the pool deck becomes a vibrant canvas for the evening glow-fest. Glow merchandise is available as well as special light-up cocktails. The Aqua Glow Pool Party is held on select dates through Sept. 2, and admission is complimentary for resort guests.

Daytime Fun Shines with Sun and Splashes

Also new for summer is a daytime pool party, the “Sunshine Splash Bash.” A lively DJ leads the fun with poolside games and hit summer tunes. Guests can get up-close to wildlife in poolside Animal Encounters – featuring alligators, snakes and more animals found the Sunshine State. Additionally, guests wanting to enjoy the ultimate water park experience can reserve premium seating, a day bed or their own private cabana.

Pedal-Powered Drinks

Making a refreshing summer drink is as easy as riding a bike. The Spin ‘n’ Blend Bicycle, located near Crystal River Rapids inside Cypress Springs Water Park, offers guests the chance to mix their own frozen cocktails or zero-proof beverages using a little pedal power. The bicycle comes equipped with a manually powered blender, and guests pedal and spin to mix their perfect frozen cocktail or mocktail.

Pirates’ Plunder Sends Seafarers on Scavenger Hunt

Another family adventure, the “Adventure Kids: Hunt for Hidden Treasure” sends guests searching high and low inside the garden atrium for clues to solve riddles on a secret pirate map. This work-at-your-own-pace scavenger hunt is offered daily.

Illuminated Animation in the Atrium

Guests can take a break from the summer fun at Cypress Springs Water Park and enjoy the resort’s lush, 4.5-acre garden atrium. Each evening inside the atrium, a kaleidoscope of color sparkles in the “Luminosity” light show. Presented on animated light curtains suspended from the ceiling, the nightly spectacle can be seen throughout the atrium. Guests with select atrium-view rooms can enjoy the colorful show from their balcony.

Find Pirate’s Treasure in our Escape Room

Guests can join their friends and family and book a pirate-themed escape room experience. “The Pirate’s Treasure Escape Room” challenges guests to work together to solve puzzles, riddles and more to pillage a pirate captain’s quarters and claim his most valuable gem in 30 minutes. Captain Hornswoggle's bride, Emerald, is on hand to help guide budding buccaneers through the room of brainteasers.

Augmented Reality Animal Adventure

Another play-at-your-own-pace activity is the “Wildlife Rescue” game, a free AR app that lets guests find exotic animals from around the world. Using their smartphone, guests look for specially marked spots throughout the atrium. Once a spot is found and scanned with the app, virtual animals appear on-screen, and guests can step in the scene for a photograph.

Year-Round Fun, a World of Cuisine, and Relaxation at Relâche Spa

In addition to the year-round and seasonal fun at Cypress Springs Water Park, there’s plenty of immersive adventures for guests all around the 65-acre Gaylord Palms Resort.

Here are a few options:

• Alligator, Fish and Alligator Grunt Feedings take place multiple times each week inside the atrium. These feedings provide guests the opportunity to learn more about Florida wildlife from animal experts.

• Fine dining experiences at Gaylord Palms Resort include the newly renovated Old Hickory Steakhouse with gourmet steaks, artisanal cheeses and fine wine. MOOR features the finest in fresh and sustainable seafood, and Villa De Flora offers Mediterranean-influenced cuisine and taste-tempting buffets. Wreckers Sports Bar features a diverse menu of pub favorites and a two-story video wall to watch the latest sports action, and SandBar satisfies the hunger and quenches the thirst of poolside guests inside Cypress Springs Water Park.
